Without Regular Inspection and Maintenance,Your Crane May Be Running On Borrowed Time.

When you skip regular maintenance and repair of your overhead crane, you’re risking a production shutdown or worse. Every year, overhead crane accidents cause severe injuries and fatalities. The most common overhead crane risks are electrical hazards, overloading, and materials falling from a crane. With proper training, and by following the crane manufacturer’s recommended schedule for service and maintenance, many of these incidents can be avoided.

Additionally, all overhead crane runways must meet stringent Crane Manufacturers Association of America (CMAA) tolerances for span, straightness and elevation. It is prudent to periodically survey your crane runways to assure that they are within CMAA tolerances and repair if necessary.

Steel Nation Facility Services offers professional overhead crane inspection, service, and maintenance, as well as hands-on training for your Maintenance crew and Crane Operators in compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.179. We provide load testing, survey, alignment, and inspection of frequently worn parts, such as end truck wheels that may require adjustment or replacement.

Our Facility Services certified trainers can help your team understand crane load charts and proper rigging of hoists as well as provide training on man lifts and forklifts. Steel Nation Facility Services crane training includes pre-operation inspections, load control techniques, and review of safety regulations and standards.

At Steel Nation, “Safety First For Life” is not just a slogan. It’s a commitment to ensure that every job is done right the first time, every time.
