Marty Micko comes to Steel Nation with more than 25 years of experience in electrical construction and design. For several years, he worked on large power plant construction and renovation projects, both fossil and nuclear power units. He worked in various capacities, from electrical construction engineer, responsible for inspection and field engineering, to start-up engineer, where he oversaw the commissioning of electrical distribution systems. In recent years, he has provided engineering support to numerous projects as the Electrical Engineer responsible for the design of power distribution, lighting, process controls, systems integration, and emergency power systems. His primary duties include conceptual design, analysis, specifications, shop drawing approval, bid evaluation and final project checkout. Other relevant experience includes protective relay testing, power circuit breaker commissioning, AC variable frequency drives, PLCs, Instrumentation and SCADA systems, motor starting analysis, protective device coordination studies, short circuit and harmonic analysis. Marty is a registered professional engineer in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, as well as in seven other states.
As the Vice President of electrical engineering, Marty has been tasked to not only provide electrical design support to the Steel Nation family of companies, but to expand the service offerings to other design firms, contractors, and facility owners.
